Why We Love Recreation Ministries: Merging Faith & Sports

Daniel Griffith’s connection to BFC Recreation’s sports leagues spans over 30 years and includes a variety of roles from playing children’s baseball, youth softball, and later men’s softball; coaching kids baseball and basketball; and now serving as baseball commissioner.

Daniel shares “A lot of my best memories of being on a ball field have happened at BFC. Playing ball, coaching kids, and having the chance to watch my kids play on the same ball field I did growing up have been special moments in my life.

The opportunity to merge my faith and passion for baseball is why I love being involved. My time growing up in the church playing baseball guided me to help youth learn how to play baseball and set an example of how to be a faithful follower of Christ."

Daniel’s experience highlights the unique role that recreation plays in connecting sports and faith. As the Family Life Park continues to take shape, we are full of anticipation for all of the ways that God will use Recreation Ministries, our amazing coaches and volunteers, and the new sports fields in the formation of faith for kids and youth in our community.
